Welcome to my Second Life!
I began my Second Life (SL) in October of 2008. Like many people in Second Life, it took me a while to explore the world and discover what I thought my place in it could be and where I could fit in. I learned much about my personal strengths and weaknesses, what my talents and interests were, who I was and wasn't ready to be, and what challenges I wanted to take on. Second Life has been an exciting journey of discovering new people, places and things, making new friends, and experiencing a diverse range of activities that make having a Second Life so entertaining, revealing, and rewarding. Why don't you join me there?
Many of my early weeks in Second Life were spent looking for the most realistic and natural islands created. My endeavour led me to Crossing Currents island which I later began to share with its owner and my eventual partner, Lie Rang, while I promoted products she created for MnM Designs, a company that sold extremely high quality island land, water, and lifestyle products to in-world residents. In my free time, I like to explore Second Life by traveling throughout it, seeking out new people, places and things to experience. Some of my travels have turned into more formal adventurous explorations which I have turned into free books and in-world photography exhibits that seek to promote and encourage the exploration of Second Life's vast natural and built landscapes, its diverse community events, and the incredible people who make the most of it. |
A few of my notable achievements:
I have distinguished myself with a few notable adventurous achievements, if not outright Second Life world records (that I wish others would attempt just for the sheer pleasure of experiencing them):
> Arguably the first and perhaps only person to completely circumnavigate by sail boat the five mainland continents connected by a single body of water (Aug.–Oct. 2009). Part of my journey included talking with residents and asking them to sign a petition to bring attention to and request Linden Labs work to provide passable, navigatable waterways around the continents for people using water crafts. Results are published on my blog at www.dahliajayaram.blogspot.com. > The only person to hot air balloon through every* mainland continent and document the epic adventure in a series of free to read online books. (*begun Jan.2010; as of 2013 on continent 9 out of 10). Due to computer hardware and software losses, my ability to publish the last three books has been suspended until I can secure funds to purchase these publishing resources. Results up until the last two continents are published on my blog at www.dahliajayaram.blogspot.com. > Undoubtedly the only person crazy enough to ever distance swim the entire east/west span of Second Life's mainland waterways (multiple times), reaching from the western coast of the Satori continent to the far eastern shores of SL Norway. (Jan.2013). One of my record-setting swims was even escorted by a team of eight Second Life Coast Guard members. Results are published on my blog at www.dahliajayaram.blogspot.com. > Paraglided from eastern Gaeta V through three quarters of Corsica, and also paraglided from the far eastern side of the Blake Sea island communities all the way up into mid-Corsica--both in singe glides! Results are published on my blog at www.dahliajayaram.blogspot.com. > From October 2013 to March 2014 traveled extensively throughout and reported on the Sansara continent Snowlands region. Results are published on my blog at www.dahliajayaram.blogspot.com. |
